HI, I'M MONIQUE

ABOUT
ABOUT ME
Originally from Chicago, I’ve built a career defined by hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to making a difference. With nearly two decades of experience spanning philanthropy, marketing and communications, partnerships, nonprofit management, digital innovation, DEI and Belonging, and business strategy, I thrive at the intersection of purpose and progress—bridging corporate and community goals to drive meaningful impact.

Passionate about social change, advocacy, and coalition building, I’ve had the privilege of organizing service and educational experiences for youth and adults ranging from my local community to Xi'An, China. A true global citizen at heart, I believe in the power of connection to inspire action, whether at home or abroad.

When I’m not working, I’m a lifelong Disney enthusiast, rediscovering the joy of fiction, and embracing nature. I proudly serve on several nonprofit boards and am driven by a vision to join a corporate board in the coming years to champion purpose and shared value in business.
WHAT I'VE DONE
I began my career in the dynamic world of media and publishing, starting at Hearst Magazines, where I honed my skills in storytelling and brand building. I then took on the role of Director of Marketing and Strategic Partnerships at Black Enterprise, leading marketing and outreach initiatives that empowered communities and celebrated achievement.

My journey continued with Teach For America (TFA), where, as Managing Director, I led national and diversity outreach efforts, managed community and celebrity partnerships, and cultivated corporate alliances to advance educational equity. Later, as Director of Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility at Comcast NBCUniversal, I drove initiatives that married innovation with impact, championing causes that matter.

In academia, I had the privilege of sharing my expertise as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Business and PR to undergraduates at Fordham University, and Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing to graduate students at New York University (NYU). These experiences allowed me to inspire the next generation of changemakers while deepening my own understanding of evolving industries.
WHAT I DO
In early 2020, I joined Walmart to lead customer and associate engagement, overseeing giving, volunteerism, partnerships, and community activations. In 2021, I transitioned within Walmart.org to serve as Director of the Center for Racial Equity & Strategic Initiatives, helping shape and drive the company’s commitment to advancing fairness and progress.

Beyond my corporate roles, I enjoy sharing insights at events and conferences, speaking on topics such as corporate social responsibility, leadership, and empowerment. Moderating discussions is a particular passion of mine—I love channeling my inner Oprah to create meaningful conversations that inspire action.

Additionally, through my own agency, Myles Ahead Consulting, I partnered with individuals and organizations to enhance their positioning, foster diversity, and elevate their mission, aligning purpose with impact.
